What More Do You Want, Doc? Napomo14-30 Poem by Dr John Celes

What More Do You Want, Doc? Napomo14-30

If you had done your mite with all your might,
And shared your ken with men, women,
And left your craft as an art in every heart,
Who want you not to part or depart,
Then, you have made a mark,
incredible, indelible, invaluable,
like how some lovers leave upon tree-bark,
to smile for all times in all climes,
to imitate, to emulate and integrate,
till eyes tear in peer and seer,
and hearts that yearn and want to learn,
you are now a teacher with a special feature,
an unforgettable soul, who played a unique role,
expounding, astounding pupils and colleagues all,
in diagnoses of ailments common, big and small,
and guiding health-providers in the art of patient-care
and management of diseases so very rare,
making them wizened and wise,
with much advice to avoid vice,
and when they excel you, the world will tell,
how good a teacher you have been with a sheen,
producing stalwarts, doyens, scholars and the like,
who can talk eruditely without a mike,
and show the world the grandeur of your show,
and thank God for the debt that they owe
to a doctor, health-carer and torch-bearer;
who strained his Betz cells and heart muscles,
to bring about the change in the desired range
to put the human race in better health,
and the world in the path of progress and wealth,
sans accolades, awards or reward,
Yet, your name is writ in God’s own Master-card!
