What Ponder I Poem by Smoky Hoss

What Ponder I

Rating: 5.0

What, makes a person
melancholy blue?
Falling leaves
and autumn sun,
wind and cold,
short days and deep, dark nights...
and loneliness, for no apparent reason.
A head that feels as though
every thought is as far separated
as each star across the universe.
A heart that seems to have beats
resonating like a falling rock
bouncing from one deep canyon into another.
And the soul blowing
like a north wind going nowhere,
and everywhere,
all in the same breath.
Is God exhaling or inhaling?
Blowing us away
or taking us in?

I look up and see
the blue in the sky,
so deep, embracing, penetrating.
So near, so far; and
sometimes I ponder What,
I don't even know...

Winter blues or just plain melancholic day....one seeks answers to who and why....Nature provides inspirations to sooth our blues through the medium the one can have at hands. And to have poetry as a medium and share it is just so wonderful.

Melancholy in winter oh i cant imagine. I feel its rasphody to pull on a blanket and beat the cold enjoy. The fire at hearth and wait for spring to bring life back... beautiful poetry.
