What's Going On Girl Poem by Mustafa Marconi

What's Going On Girl

What’s going on girl?
I can’t believe that this is real
I know that you’re unhappy
With the way I make you feel
Never known to be romantic
To whisper sweet words to soothe the ears
To sell you dreams and fantasies
Still we’ve been together for so many years
A man of words I’ll never be
A man of riches you wish of me
The treasures within me my heart and mind
Are untapped resources your eyes can not find
Yesterday you would have felt hopeless
Today there is this feeling of liberty
Your bonds to this society, its ways and ideas
Has caused a chemical confusion in our atmosphere
So sweet yet so naive
Forsaking true love for love of this world
The hurt within me so painful to feel
What’s going on girl, I can’t believe that this is real
