What’s Love All About (2)

Though love’s beginning is divine
Its spring is Heaven’s shore
We guzzle it, like cheap sweet wine
And search the world for more

More beautiful, than eyes can see
Sweeter than honey dew
It comes to all completely free
Yet nurtured but by few

Although its sweet and quite sublime
Some treat it as a tool
Others may savour it a while
Then squander like a fool

However much for love we thirst
However much we’ve won
The living God deserves it first
And Jesus Christ His Son

It can’t be realized in haste
It isn’t meant for play
Nor should it be as common waste
Once used and thrown away

The Lamb of God revealed its worth
Through all He had to give
Enduring much, He died on earth
That man through faith may live

For selfless love is yet to see
Christ’s arms are still held wide
He calls to set the sinner free
He calls us all inside

Till on it’s fruit the world takes wing
Until it comes to stay
Let love become the song we sing
Our chosen dance each day
