What Value The Nobel Peace Price? Poem by spiritual seeker

What Value The Nobel Peace Price?

Rating: 5.0

A world leader proudly received his Nobel peace price,
And claimed to be a leader of truth and man of peace,
But his assassination drones are busy day and night,
Killing innocent people in many countries,
old and the young, women and children,
In the safety of their homes, fields and streets,
Even in their sleep!

Where are the voices of humanity and true democracy?
As if lips were sealed!
Are faces turned away and the hearts feeling no more?
When whole villages and communities were slaughtered,
Not because of any crime,
But just being different in skin colour and belief.

Are we worse than the wild tigers of Sundarban?
Wake up and look around us!
Let us together speak up loudly and stop all this slaughter!
Give us a few Tutus, Mandelas and Martin Luthers,
who acted to bring peace to this world,
A few Yunuses, Ghandis, Rumis and Teresas,
who can inspire us to be humane and do away with hunger,
to eradicate poverty and treat the sick.

Tell me, is the world moving towards democracy or brutality?
Why does the UN not burn the midnight oil?
Have we sold our souls to the devil?
