What Were You Saying? Poem by Vera Sidhwa

What Were You Saying?

What were you saying?
Did you say 'Ilove you? '
You never quite say it,
Though I wanted you to.

I've waited so long,
For those three words.
But I think it absurd,
To do so.

Today, so suddenly,
You said the magic words.
I threw my arms around you.
I'll never stop holding you.
