What Will I Be? Poem by Catherine Agunat

What Will I Be?

At my window, in silence I wallow
Bu-sy thinking about my future
Asking myself what will I be tomorrow
Will I be shrivel and whither
Or will I taste life's tender verdure?

If there's a life after death, will I go to heaven
And there, I will find my soul dancing with an angel
What if my sins will be UN- forgiven
Will I argue with the devils in hell?

If I consider the theory of reincarnation
In my second life,
Will I become a free sparrow,
A horse in motion,
Or a hard working buffalo?

Huh! Silence has a lot of questions
But to hurt my feeling is not my intention
Perhaps, the fruit of my labour today
Will determine what I will become someday
Then being nice and faithful may bring my soul into a joyous destination.
