What Would You Say? Poem by Erwick Brandon

What Would You Say?

Last night I dreamt of you and me
Let me start at the beginning
I got in my car and drove to the place where I gave you your gift through song
The same place where I watched you dance and twirl under the neon lights
Where I realized that I've loved you all along
Only to find you waiting for me
Not even the moon or the stars above matched your beauty

I grabbed your hands
Looked you in the eyes
Got down on one knee and I asked..

How about it, will you marry me?
Your the only one I see
We'll run away this very night
Take my hand and hold it tight
Please end my suffering
How about it, will you marry me?

Now many years later
I'm still wrapped around your finger
And there's no place I would rather be
Since the day I met you I knew my life would never be the same
I still go weak at the knees every time I hear you say my name
Sitting side by side
We reminisce about the times
that we thought would never pass.
But those days are far behind us
All we needed was love, faith and trust

Then I grab your hands
Look you in the eyes
Do you remember when I asked...

How about it, will you marry me?
Your the only one I see
We'll run away this very night
Take my hand and hold it tight
Please end my suffering
How about it, will you marry me?

I never wanna wake up from this dream
Cause I'll wake up alone without you next to me
I don't know how much more I can take
Tell me what would you say?

How about it, will you marry me?
Your the only one I see
We'll run away this very night
Take my hand and hold it tight
Please end my suffering
How about it, will you marry me?

How about it would you marry me?
