Whats The End? Poem by Dustin Newman

Perception gives me hope.
As it should.
But is it real or is it a facade?
Do I want to know?
Perception gives me peace.
Calms my thoughts.
Deepens my heart beyond reason.
Penance is given. Every day.
Recklessness is overcome by intuition.
These things confuse me yet bring answers.
Sorrow is only for a time.
Happiness is the end I see.
Though altruism has hindered such sight.
I must accomplish what I set out to do.
Accomplishment is only graded by the amount of effort.
And effort comes from the passion of wanting contentment.
