When A Love Affair Ends Poem by Karl Newton

When A Love Affair Ends

When a love affair ends
There will be a range of emotions
Loss
Grief
Regret
Anger
Anxiety for life without
Regret at ever getting involved in it
Excitement for a new life ahead
A period of re-adjustment
A case of finding the real you again
Searching for your own identity
Rebuilding the broken pieces
Left behind by the flaming inferno
Of passion and desire
Blinkered to the damage
The relationship was doing
Love overriding all
Comfort seldom felt
The love affair of which I speak
Mine to
Alcohol and Cocaine
It's time to move on
The fun is done
No looking back
There is so much more
I need to be
A brighter future
For my
Peace and Sanity
