Her phone rang
She just let it ring
She couldn't bring herself to pick it
She fought against the decision
Her eyes had broken their waters

She had promised herself
Never again would she let him
Feed her with lies
She had had enough
She wanted out
Ignoring his calls
Was a path to ridding herself of him.

Days passed, months even
Still she hoped, the phone would ring
No, she wasn't going to pick
She just hoped, she wasn't forgotten
But deep down she knew she was.

The phone never rang
She checked it quite so often
Maybe he'd called while she slept
She fought the idea cropping in her mind
But it won so she picked the phone and rang him
It rang and was ignored.
