When Evenings Be As This Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

When Evenings Be As This

When evenings be as this
And dusks as red
Then Love we shall walk
All round the streets of an old Valletta
Till we reach view of quay, waters, skiffs, and stars in pensive mood and moon lost in philosophy.
And after midnight the hauntings of ancient wraiths of fear.
