When I Discovered Myself. Poem by Zainab Lone

When I Discovered Myself.

Rating: 5.0

When I discovered myself.
Away from the city lights,
Away from the noise,
I came and sat,
In front of the dusty mirror,
Where I saw a stranger,
Staring at me,
With her painful eyes,
I wanted to go deep,
And deep inside her,
To dig out the secrets,
That lie in her core,
I felt that she,
Was a new face to me,
She stored in herself,
A world of her own,
The waves of her sea,
Ruined my peace,
And took me to the world,
That lies beyond this world,
The winds of her core,
Trembled my soul,
And called for help,
Again and again,
The darkness of her moon,
Made everything invisible,
And no one could see,
The light under the black,
The coldness of her sun,
Had frozen her from inside,
yet she stood smiling,
Like a rose in the mud,
The cries of her silence,
Echoed in my ears,
And made me deaf,
To the sounds of the world,
She had raised,
The banks of her river,
To show the world,
That she was a mountain,
She stood alone,
In the crowd of her mind,
Yet deceived herself,
By believing,
That she had lots who cared,
I kept watching,
The stranger in my mirror,
Until I landed,
In the dreams of my own,

Welcome. An excellent insightful write. Well executed and expressed.+++10 If only we could discover ourselves. Our minds are electric-chemical neuronic synapsed factories that will not let us in. We may think we know who we are but do we? Who is in control? Is it you? The You of mind is the mind itself together with the physical brain controls us twenty-four-seven, all of life. Ask yourself do you walk or does your mind walk you?
