When I Loved You Poem by Chimwemwe kangulero

When I Loved You

When I loved you, oh, it was grand
The world felt fresh and full of demand
My heart leapt with every fleeting glance
And every moment, I was in a trance

I'd dance alone, when no one was there
Thinking of you, without a single care
My mind would fill with memories sweet
As love for you, flowed through my heartbeat

And when we were together, so much fun
My world grew brighter, like a rising sun
Our love was fierce, and oh, so strong
I could've loved you, all my life long

But love, it seems, is sometimes fleeting
And the heart too, needs some healing
Even though, we've gone our separate ways
Memories of you, still linger and stay

So, when I loved you, it was a dream
And now, it's just a distant gleam
But know that once upon a time
My heart was yours, and you were mine.
