When I Open My Eyes Poem by Alvin Magsino

When I open my eyes,
I see the world as it is.
When I close them,
I see a world as I want it to be.
So now, I guess,
It’s better to close my eyes
forever.

I hope I can live into my dreams
And leave the reality unknown
Because, in dreams,
There set no limits;
I can see only what I wanna see,
I can hear only what I wanna hear,
And feel only what I want to feel-
I just don’t want to wake up.

They say, “Nothing’s gonna last forever! ”
They say, “They won’t stay there.”
But how can we prove it?
If we, ourselves, can’t last forever
to witness.
