today morning
i sat down to write
the poem that was
lingering in my mind
'can i have the laptop? '
said my husband
'i want my breakfast'
screamed my son
'i want the laundry'
asked the maid'
'i want to talk'
said my sister
'call me'
messaged my mother
'just a min'
cried I
now the words
in my head are drowned,
with the noises
of the household
wife, mother, sister first
the poet in me got to wait! !
