When Night Comes Poem by Ryekotoo Julius Peter

When Night Comes

Time shall come when I shall go
On irrejectable journey -
Journey of no return

Darkness shall engulf me;
I shall see no sun, moon or stars
And night and day shall be coequal;
For I shall be blind

I shall hear not my name
Or any one's name
Or even scintilla of sound
For I shall be deaf and mute

You shall lay me on hot rays of sun,
Lashes of rain shan't spare me
But, I shall feel no cold
Or sweat shan't beam out

When that time come,
When the time comes
Waste not your tears -
A drop won't give back breathe

When that time comes
Keep it simple and stupid;
Fill in your empty store of food
Just wet your throat
And make merry
