When Our Love Is War Poem by D.D Sherman

When Our Love Is War

Rating: 3.5

Tonight, standing too close to the stars,
You feel the heat in the darkness,
Flames from fire.
I took you to the stars.
Now, in our trenches, we hide.
Your words, Grenades, Shells,
My words, like the crackle of gunfire.
Still our love, transcending, soaring,
The fight for justice, freedom through the air.
My tears escapes.

Wounded, no longer could i fight, wanting to stay alive,
apparently, sensing the bullet engraving in my heart,
Like how it will and always will be, my love ever so deep, still often we plunge into war,
Our souls collide.
My tears escapes.

Alas, mercy, our souls forever one and syncronised, we raise our white flags,
our blindness diminishes, ever conquering love, same souls.
A stalemate if we fought on,
My tears escapes.

Like water putting out the fire, my wounds can finally heal,
Our tears escapes.
