When The Light Is Gone Poem by Herbert Dry

When The Light Is Gone

Darkness surrounds no light found in
this abyss
Tortured screams nightmare dreams
demons kiss

Echoes of harrows no tomorrows in this
bottomless pit
Demons dance terror never
quits

Soaking wet night sweats fever
running wild
Delirious words evil spirits smile
devils child

From this chasm
deep
Reaching into darkness sanity of
mind keep

Upon my face a cooling mist fever
coming down
A beam of light shining bright
upward bound
