When The Poet In Me Is Bored Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

When The Poet In Me Is Bored

Rating: 3.0

There are times that I think
Times, I just write whatsoever there is to write
Other times, I do both; think and write
Most times, I just think and not write
Well at times, I write and then think
Healthy inconsistencies, I guess

The sun does not rise from the true east all the time
In October, it passes directly above our heads
In winter it is at ear angle
The sunset is never true west all year round
Neither do winds blow in the same direction all the time
Natural inconsistencies, I guess

Just now, I met two boys riding bicycles
One tall and older, the other, small and younger, I guess
The older decided they turned left
The younger relented under intense protestations though
Well, the power of age manipulation
Social inconsistencies, I guess
