When The World Ends Poem by SJ. Sharkey

When The World Ends

When The World Ends,
Collect your things and come meet me,
And we’ll watch the stars disappear.
Too bad for them that no-one else is here, but our love has kept us alive.
Turn around and see the city dive.
Pulled below the ocean floor.
Then swallowed whole as the waves wash away,
All that we used to live for.
Come to me and I’ll hold you tight.
We will survive this starless night.
I will keep you safe and warm.
We’ll rise up as the buildings fall.
As we pass the furious angels,
Destruction and Devastation in their way,
While far below the devils play.
Nothing more can reach us here,
While even so I hear a whisper clear:
“The apocalypse is now! ” - the devils cheer.
Their exclamation ringing in my ear.
This can’t be so.
For we are here.
But now I know, it’s over, dear.
So come to me when the apocalypse starts,
And wrenches from us our bleeding hearts.
No more pain could we endure,
And we rise like newborns – cleansed and pure.
We are but two.
Within a crowd
Of souls who’s song is sweet yet loud.
And still I find myself so charmed.
By your beauty and wilful mind.
I am but one amongst a few.
But when the world ends, I’ll still love you…

If we were one.. If i could touch the milky way I would would save you a taste to supish the tounge. If i could hold a star I would break off a peice and let it be your sun If saturn could let me borrow one of it's rings I would put it on your finger If i heard the white dove sing I would bring it for you to linger If the moon was our spotlight I would gladly dance with you If the flowers bloomed around us I would gather them all for you But now that your gone These are the things i wish i would have done And if god intended for you to go Then why didn't he bring me with you If we were one.
