When These Times Come Poem by Daniele Cerasoli

When These Times Come

Why do clouds suddenly appear?
Is it just for them to reign over me?
Because when the sun sits in the sky, so clear,
Shade may be what we most need.

Why do birds sing their songs all day?
Is it just to drown me in their joy?
Because when our day is upside down and gray,
A bird's song is what we may most enjoy.

Why do the stars shine so bright?
Is it just to bask us in their fame?
Because when we wander and get lost in the night,
The stars give for use something to aim.

Why do flowers have so much beauty?
Is it just for us to stare at them?
Because when we sit in the burning debris,
A flower will be our gem.
