Where-Ever My Journeys Will Take Me Poem by Francis Duggan

Where-Ever My Journeys Will Take Me

Where-ever my journeys will take me and where-ever I rest my tired feet
I will always be one from Duhallow a rustic fellow from Millstreet
One who is rough around the edges on my biological clock time ticks on
Life's twilight years they are upon me and my better days are forever gone.

Our life's journey has to start somewhere mine started near old Clara hill
In a house by the roadway to Rathmore a stone throw from the babbling rill
That flows on down to the river that flows to the big river to the sea
Our life span in time seems brief enough though Nature lives eternally

Our life journey it begins somewhere and somewhere that journey must end
And enemies are not that hard to make far easier than making a friend
I feel grateful for a happy childhood I was one very lucky boy
Some happy teen years close to Nature I was privileged for to enjoy.

Where-ever my journeys will take me the good memories I will recall
Of a happy boyhood close to Nature for me by far the best days of all
The little dark brown white breasted dipper in Spring always sang in the rill
That babbled on down to the river down through the high field by the hill.
