Where Have You Gone? Poem by Kim Barney

I was born in a bank - - my mother went there and made a deposit

Where Have You Gone?

I wonder where you are today.
Some think you died or moved away.
Others believe you went to France,
Learning to do a brand-new dance.
Do please return to us, I pray,
Even tomorrow or today.

Some day we may meet once again;
Perhaps I'll recognize you then.
Remembering those days of yore
And reminiscing as before.
No one back then could have foretold
Developments to yet unfold.
Even good plans can come undone;
Let's not mess up the perfect one.
