Where Hope Is
The darkness you carry inside of your heart
You hold it so heavy, a balancing art
How can you stand so steady and strong
You think your intentions couldn't be more wrong
A contrasting mirror from the outside in
I could almost reach but your heart is too dim
Open up, I assure you it will all be okay
I know you've been hurt but I'm not that way
Say what you want, let it all free
Whatever it is, don't worry about me
I love you so I don't want you to cry
But how will you get there if you don't stop to try
I love you so I don't care what you've done
I want you to know, after dark there is sun
What they've done is awful but it's not near the end
They may be discouraging with the anger they send
But it's alright, I'm here now
Please feel safe and please feel sound
Don't hurt yourself, you hurt me too
If only they knew the real you
