Where I Always Stand Poem by Thoisquare Tongbram

Where I Always Stand

The night is ‘still’ dead.
The world seems like forever in bed.
And I’m still awake,
In this world of fake
Dreams my mind makes.

Knowing you’ll be asleep
My heart starts to beep
A tone like ‘I miss you’
But more than just an ‘I remember you’;
To ‘wish I could be with you’
But that’s just me on my part.
In this little dance of hearts,
About you, I’m curious.
What you do for it, I’m oblivious.
What I do know, it’s only the obvious.

Girl, if you feel I’m not up to it,
You are free, just leave it.
Dropping everything on the sand,
You can leave with clean hands.
It’s for you to decide where you stand.

You know I can’t make you stay,
But only let things go their own way.
And even if you do go, I’ll understand.
I know I’ll be there, unmoving and
Right where I always stand.
