O, where the old man
At the charkha
Making yarn,
Singing the song
Of Rama,
Talking with all,
Asking about,
So simple, so austere,
So principled, so philosophical,
So truthful, so believing in non-violence,
So peace-keeping,
Where, where that votary
Of peace, truth and non-violence,
Where, where the man of plain living, high thinking?

Clad in a dhoti
And with a chadar over
And in the specs
And with a stick
Going the pathways of life,
Striding it all alone?
