Where Is The Rain? Poem by Michael Lee Buchanan

Where Is The Rain?

Rating: 3.0

It needs to rain outside- it needs to pour
I need a way through- I cant take much more
I cried before- my blood dripping to the floor
but I cant keep wishing-that life was somehow more

I thought that everything-was going to be okay again
but everyone is the same- no one has changed yet
and everywhere that I go- my past haunts me still
I cannot escape- I cannot get away

Even in death- my name shall haunt me
and in life- my name shall betray me
I loved you- don't you see
you gave me the strength- to take the pills

You took my life- and left me dead
But still breathing- hopeless in my head
crying because I am alone- laying in this cold bed
My heart longs- for more than just said

I used to write about the sad- my poems of hate
but then I found us- was this fate
But it seems- its no longer enough
and it doesn't matter what you say- life gets rough

You can pretend- you can stop the pain
You can act- like you don't see me hurting
You can see-what you want to see
but how can you deny- the blood I leave

I break down- and I will cry
I am hopeless- I just want to die
What is it- that wants to hold me back
from ending- this heinous attack.

There is no knight- in his shining armor
I am no damsel- living in distress
I am a dreamer- for a dream of death
and I am an achiever- always afraid

But always pushed- to find a way out
Even if it means- radicals of any amount
For if I stay- who will take account
For the blood- on the hands of innocents

I wear my heart- concealed on my sleeve
I wear my hate- like a mask that formed a person
I wear my fear- like tomorrow isn't near.
I wear the truth- hear the words hear the lies.

Oh how I wish- the sun would fall
and how strongly- the moonlight does call
where have they gone- the clouds of sorrow
Oh I beg of you- rain please come back
