Which One Do I Choose? Poem by Julie Johnson

Which One Do I Choose?

Oil,
Metal,
Cold as ice.

Rope,
Tight,
Burning my skin.

Pills,
Swallow,
Fade to black.

Water,
Air,
Lungs are burning.

Roof,
Sidewalk,
Falling falling falling.

Cars,
Road,
Honking screeching swerving.

Trigger,
Bang,
Through my head.

Noose,
Tightening,
I can't breathe.

Coma,
Darkness,
Put me down.

Bubbles,
Sinking,
Blurry light above.

Blur,
Screams,
Then sudden dark.

Asphalt,
Blood,
Worried faces everywhere.

Blur,
Dark,
Conscious then dark.

Focus,
Unfocus,
Slipping away again.

Light,
Dark,
Flashes of faces.

Blink,
Sleep,
Muffled voices near.

Fade,
Black,
It's finally over.
