Whispers Poem by Stewart McKenzie

Whispers

Rating: 5.0

Whisper whisper whisper

Children exchanging naughty secrets
Adolescents sharing sex and mockery
Lawyers giving guidance
Politicians plotting
With hands over mouths
To prevent lip reading

My mother once told me
Never eavesdrop
You will hear only unpleasantries

Ooh, so true. Unfortunately, everyone on the bus or subway seems to be talking into their cell phone, leaving half a conversation in earshot, whether I want it or not. -chuck
