Who Am I? Poem by Oyekake Satty (O S) Joshua

Who Am I?

I am the reflection
Of many friends and love ones,
Their dreams and desires
Their prayers and visions

I am your voice of hope
Prodding each day to push higher
To reach for crowns and glories
To master the moments and live

I am your encouragement
Urging each down moment
To get up and push forward
To rest on the anchor of faith

I am your smile and your joy
Rejoicing in my successes
Affirming my efforts with hugs
Validating my stay with kisses

I am your winding signs
Posted on the highway
Reminding me of the curves
Preventing me from skidding

I am the tears in your eyes
The kindness in your heart
The comfort in your bosom
When the world is harsh

I am the friend in your dream
The enchantment in your life
My hurts are your sorrows
My laughter is your joy

I am the reflection of your hope
The result of your fervent prayers
The success you’ve longed for
The affirmation of your effort

I am the warmth in your heart
The sweet whisper in your ear
The soft touch in your hand
The rest at your day’s end

I am your daily perseverance
The product of your hard work
And the accomplishment of
Many friends, families and teachers

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Any success I have is not solely due to my efforts. What I am and becoming, is a result of the encouragements, prayers, support, and even the admonition of many friends, teachers and family members.
