Who Am I Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

Who Am I

It is not so curious that you can't get to know me
Most times I don't really know my true self
I get involved in plights of uncontrol at times,
and rue the moment
But I can't resist doing them again
If I'm happy today, I might be sad tomorrow,
when I become someone else
I can accept that change, but others see only the
one they have come to know
Most times my demeanor is marked by courage
and determination, attracting new friends
Then my alter ego emerges full of angst, and
hostility
My new friends disappear, and I wonder why
There is no use to complain, for I am again alone,
in another friendless world
Then I think, what reason do I have to make
myself worthy of friendship
