Who Is A Poetess Or Poet Poem by Francis Duggan

Who Is A Poetess Or Poet

Do not ask me who is a poetess or a poet
Or of who should be worthy of literary note
Since I am not one of literary degrees
And diplomas such as this does not grow on the trees
On writers worthy of criticism the literary experts decide
And literary reputations by them are enhanced or destroyed
For their literary opinions they receive a good pay
And on who should or should not be considered a writer they do have their say
Although some may tell you everyone's opinion does count
My opinions on the writings of writers to little does amount
And though I am one who can tell a currawong from a crow
Of writers and writings little if anything at all I cannot claim to know
Who is or is not a good writer ask someone other than me
Since I am one who does not have a literary degree.
