Who Is This Person? Poem by Connie Leigh Lindsay

Who Is This Person?

Rating: 3.0

Who is this person
looking at me through the mirror?

I wish I knew;
I would like to know her.

She looks just like me
yet we can't be the same person.

She knows exactly what she wants
I don't and may never know.

She's outgoing and never shy.
If only I could be that way.

She doesn't care what other people say.
I have a habit of caring too much.

She never forgets and always says the right thing.
I always forget and never say the right thing.

She plunges forward through life.
I feel as if I'm standing still.

Who is this person?
I don't know but I wish I was her.

She is everything I want to be.
Hopefully, one day, I can be her again.
