Why did you have to hurt me
why did you leave
why did you have to make something
for which i can only grieve?

Why did you say you loved me
when the feelings weren't really there
why did you have to leave me
and make life so hard to bare

Why can't things go back
to the way they used to be
and why was my love
something you chose not to see

And why does my heart break
a little more each day
and why when i see you
do i turn the other way

Why did you make love
something i long to hate
and why did you make me think
that this was somehow fate
