Why Do We Live? Poem by Robert Knox

Why Do We Live?

Act I
We live to wake each morning to love.
To live is to love and be loved in return.
Through Ice I drove,
All the while I strove,
To hold no concern
As hearts will always
Yearn.

Act II
For that fire ignited,
My Love assured,
My ailment cured.
Hammers and Hearts
Have no place for me.
I've got my smarts.
I know that death is to lose thee
And bullets for fears
With ever lost years.

Act III
Life is passion,
After something or other.
Copmassion.
We wake to love each evening.
As sun sets and Heavens shine.
I know I have mine.
My angel.
My love.
My forever.
We were born for this:
To love and remember.
