Why Women Wear Heels?

Women wear heels, fashion dictate.
Women wear heels to imitate.
Women wear heels to feel great.
Women wear heels to look taller.
Women wear heels, feet look smaller.
Sky high heels to look sexy.
To walk on heels, one can't be lazy.
To walk on heels, a balancing act.
To walk on heels, risks the back.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I used to love wearing high heels when I was younger. Now I realized that I was torturing my poor feet and heels are bad for the back, feet and toes. I have demoted myself to wearing flats and I think my feet feels happier now!

I

I AM not One who much or oft delight
To season my fireside with personal talk.--
Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
