Why Worry Poem by warren shava

Why Worry

Uncertain is my new constant, tomorrow is like a stolen mirage
I long for the solace of a comforting hymn, the kindness of a happy child
Memories obscure today’s happenings, harken to days past, duels and fights lost
Judgments are for the living, those gone cannot impose their will
Ignore known truths, lies are a comforting friend I oft have tea with
Tomorrow is best left to its own devices, my place in it is never assured, why worry?
Disguise hurt as harmless, hide it in the crevices of time, past the temptation of reason
Egos massaged only to be betrayed by false promises of a better day, why worry.
