Will You Disobey?

“Through disobedience, Adam fell
And ran from God on high
Today we too can end in hell
Unless to self we die

But still we choose to cheat and lie
God’s rules we disobey
Through lack of knowledge people die
Then turn to dust and clay

Many in death will find no peace
Their worms see no decay
Their pain in hell will never cease
Because they disobey

Even in church we’re sad and weak
We come but seldom stay
The Lord who’s face we’ve come to seek
We doubt and disobey

In Christ we’re taught to place our trust
We’re taught to fast and pray
We’re taught to live a life that’s just
Yet still we disobey

Within the light, our walk is good
But darkness comes our way
For though we do the things we should
We also disobey

Although for Christ we truly thirst
Our tithes we promptly pay
When asked to help we’re always first
Yet still we disobey

Lord; at Your feet we humbly bow
Although we’ve gone astray
We pray that through You’re teaching now
We’ll cease to disobey
