Wings Poem by Ebhodaghe Godstime

Wings

My dad is not and angel
But was always there
No wings were given my mum
But always wiped my bombom
The angels have six
The birds have twins
I was not given any

I took dad to my right
And mummy to my left
So I grew my own wings
A degree from Ali
Though I am not an angel
My ego soar high

The space is wide and high
The government may not thrive
And no parents to guide
We truly need a dream
A moment filled with strength
And Diddy in my heart
We both in Christ reside
I have enough to fly

And to every presence
That embrace this moment
You fill my wings with strength
Even turgid to vent
I swear, with joy I'll faint

Wings without strength
Are strength without wings
Withal so high I fly
Your presence makes me high

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
On the graduation ceremony of my friend's(Diddy's) fiancé, Liz Erazua from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma.

This rendition was sculptured with 'the stream of consciousness' style of artistry. Do envisage the personage of the celebrant as you ruminate on this poetic exuberance.
