Wings Poem by Evelyn Judy Buehler

Wings

Rating: 5.0

Whirling and dancing in limitless air,
One little, red leaf floated solitaire.
So sun-kissed, perky and full of grace;
Too soon it was far from its birthplace!

To the envy of leaves still on the trees,
It soared high o'er land, on autumn breeze!
Such heights the others could not conceive,
But, golden butterflies rise, if you believe.

"Little Leaf, "said God, "How do you fly,
For such a great distance, and so very high? "
"Upon a poet's wings, "the little one said.
And with a cute little spin, away he sped!
