Winter Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Winter

I hear the coffee brewing
Sun is rising like a lion
Outside the snow is like a sea
Trees are frosted
The quiet is mighty

Inside there is a fire
My heart yearns like a river
Winter doesn't bother the pines
Purpose is in tact
Hope embraces the new day

I pour a nice hot cup
Patterns on the rug flair
Wood floors like a mystical flower
The pictures on the wall smile
Winter is an ancient friend
