Winter Poem by Gayathri Seetharam

Winter

Winter
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
Winter is like ice cream
Cold and nice
When not too frozen a landscape
With chilly winds;

The fresh faced look of snow
Has a beautiful aspect to it
And the soft feel of snow
Is good if we are warmly dressed
And have winter tires on cars;

Who needs ice and slush, I say,
To the City Councillor of Parkdale-High Park
Introduce a legislation that
Salts the roads and the sidewalks for a nominal fee;

I beseech of my London Fog Snow boots
To give me the know of snow once again
I pray to my ice trackers to help me
Manouver the icy roads again;

Practical and metaphorical
Is this poem
Which makes me welcome
Sunshine on wintry days.
