Winter Monsters Poem by Barry Middleton

Winter Monsters

Rating: 5.0

the sun was hidden in the gray
but now the light is here
the monsters of the winter night
must fade and disappear

but winter has not gone for good
the seasons slowly turn
and so the gray will come again
ignoring my concern

the night did bring a winter rain
it was a mild attack
the earth is grateful for its gift
the monster left no track

still I have had enough of gray
enough of winter rain
enough of monsters in the night
enough of doubt and pain

A very lovely write that so wonderfully depicts pain and doubt. The backdrop of winter and rain accentuates the effect. A big 10.

Thanks Nosheen. Winter always brings somber mood for me even though I live in a subtropical climate.
