Winter's Hustle-Bustle Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Winter's Hustle-Bustle

I awoke to glorious splendour
Blue skies were crystal clear.
Sunbeams glistened through the trees
In late Autumn of the year.

One single red rose, elegant and tall
Swayed in the fresh morning air,
A beautiful white dove flew up above.
Mother nature was everywhere.

But suddenly, the picture changed
As vehicles rushed to and fro.
Tranquility and peace had flown
Twas 'hustle-bustle', come and go!

Young children were misbehaving,
There were road drills and aeroplanes
Deafening noises - spread far and wide,
From the roar and rumble of cranes.

So 'that's life' as we have to live it.
Good times and bad times for everyone
But a fresh golden morn will shine again
When serenity returns with the springtime sun.
