Wire Poem by Tyton Toste

Wire

wire, its a metal thread.
But carries current instead.

Much like the mind,
You can scrape its side.

You may bend it and twist,
And wrap it around your wrist,

And it will stay that way,
Until you untangle it one day.

Just like a mans mind,
You may cut it from behind.

Just to shorten the length to fit
The painful barbs and cunning knit.

Then run energy in through the cut,
And hold the other side of the rut.

Yes, just like the mind.
It can be manipulated to find.

Or barbed with cruel intent,
or bludgeoned with fists and bent.

It cannot scream in pain,
Nor win its share in fame,

But it can barb itself to keep others out,
Or open its gate and let them all shout.

It may shock you with surprising flows,
and have been rusted in weathers glow.

you see, wire is metal thread.
not much like human mind instead.

Easily destroyed or taken control of,
But not easily tied back together with love.
