Wish You Were Alone Poem by David Harris

Wish You Were Alone

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I wish I were alone
to do just what I please
without having to answer
my actions to anyone,
especially someone who doesn’t know
what the compulsion to write is really like.
It is a lonely profession,
that need quiet to nurture it through,
but if they do not understand,
they cannot see what you have to do.
They just think that life
is just a nothingness of boring tasks.
There is no enjoyment to be had
except within their work.
Your frustration grows
and arguments ensue. Y
ou wish you were then alone
to do the things you want to do.
