The old man and boy
Grandfather and grandson
Visited the wishing well
And each in turn
Threw in a coin and made a wish.
The old man wished
For happiness for the boy
The boy for happiness for the old man
Joy in years to come
With family love supporting him.
"Nothing has changed, " said the boy
As he walked hand in hand
With the old man away from the wishing well.
"That's because, " replied the old man wisely
"We were already living our wishes."
