With Pride We Remain Poem by Spiritwind Wood

We hold the faith and believe
everything will be alright
we cherish our love of family
we mourn in their loss
but know their Spirit lives on
and are never really gone
in our hearts they never leave
we pray to our Creator
the Great Spirit in the sky
we follow a path on this journey
no matter what the cost
each step helps us get by
we dance the beat of our Ancestor
to the wisdom they taught us to see
we stand up to all that is right
and never give up without a fight
with pride we remain strong
for a future generation
and sing a Warriors song
for a new nation
