With Thanks For The Flowers Poem by Sally Evans

With Thanks For The Flowers

Monique and Michaela,
Michelle, Aviva and Barbara, and Denyse,
you have sent me such beautiful flowers,
they brighten up my facebook page
and for some reason they are all different.

I think how I shall grow them
and consider where they'll go
in my green garden with plenty of space
for a pot or a shrub or a flower,
with their many colours that never clash.

Although they are cyberflowers
they work like real ones, consoling,
bringing that necessary smile,
and giving extra life to the day.
But all the same,

I've never sent you any back,
except perhaps at first
because the applications worry me.
You have sent me these flowers,
you are poets and you are ladies.

So I thank you, caring for the flowers,
glad of their various forms and colours.
They cheer me when I am tired,
they remind me I am glad too
that for some reason we are all different.
